Krux Kross
music Enuma Elish |
Oh you, The boldest of the nations Fired By daring so much pride
By lust Of fame so inspired Sons of this World Whose eyes have profaned
Through my Waves you’ll advance You have viewed The secrets of my awful reign
Hear now My lips will profess Your race Must shall descend
I’ve been God’s unwanted Son |
The lyrics is taken from the Adamastor’s poem of the portuguese XVIth century epic ‘Os Lusíadas’, written by poet Luis de Camões. There’s a thematic transposition from XVIth century to XXth century. Adamastor is symbolically converted into the Evil that inflicted the world in the last 100 years. Portuguese people and their Discoveries turn out to be all living species which suffered from holocausts, epidemics, natural catastrophies, etc |
