“It's easy to say that Azorean bands don't suffer from insularity, but in a close analysis, it becomes very clear that thinking like that is the same as to close your eyes to the obvious. Enuma Elish as for the other bands on the islands, suffer of being too far from the mainland and from it's inherent opportunities. The music market is smaller and musicians have to bind their playing preferences and personal tastes in order to survive, a killer fact for the most of the bands. But this project is a great example of perseverance and wiliness which may characterize someone who truly believes in what is doing. The initial Enuma Elish used to play more of a Doom Metal genre, which ended up evolving to a more eclectic and diverse sound. They describe themselves as a type of Dark Rock, in the magnificent multimedia presentation included on the CD. What we find in all these 6 tunes is a mixing of heavy power riffs, with rhythmic cadences and theatrically worked voices, in a very dark and overshadowed atmosphere. Eterno Descanso "Eternal Rest" with its impossible to forget melody, with over delayed guitars in a very emotional ambience, it's one of those highlighting songs of the demoCD. A refreshing proposal in the darkest music spectrum, no doubt. 8/10”
